Gabriel is the name of an unknown character in the Project Nephilim Universe. He is first mentioned in the short story Drowning, where it is implied that he is the individual speaking to Chase as she drowns, and who ultimately saves her. If this is the case, he seems to be connected to the music only she can hear. He warns her that she must become the person she was meant to be lest the music fade into silence at the end of all things. It's worth noting that Chase does not mention Gabriel when she recounts her brother's death to Roland following their meeting with Robin Quick (SA: Vade Retro).

Gabriel gets his first mention of the series in the epilogue to the Series Finale. While tormenting Robin in prison, Zam'im expresses concern that "Chase may very well suceed where Gabriel failed." What specificaly the entity is refering to is not clear at this time, but it does seem to indicate that Gabriel and Zam'im are opposed in some way.

Theories[]

  • Given the series' tendency to reference Abrahamic mythology, it's possible that Gabriel is in fact the Archangel Gabriel.
  • The canonical short story The Glass Rose also features a character named Gabe. It is unknown if this is a coincidence or if they are the same character.
